Volume Bar on Dell Inspiron 6000 keeps appearing in middle of screen!

I've got a Dell laptop but whenever I adjust the volume using the hotkeys, the volume indicator appears in the centre of the screen instead of near bottom left as it did before.
I closed the lid the other day and when I opened it again the whole graphics setup had been changed, not by anyone but it seems just the Dell Laptop being crap.
If anyone knows how to sort this annoying volume indicator out, I'd really appreciate it.

I presume you mean the built in volume control in XP. (Not the large one, but the small one)
I have just played around with my volume control, and each time I click the speaker icon once then move the mouse (within about 1 - 2 seconds of clicking) it opens the volume control in that position. E.g. Click Volume Control Speaker Icon then move mouse and the volume control opens in the position where your mouse is.
Therefore, it could be that the volume control is appearing where you have your mouse on the screen when you use the Hotkeys.
I hope this helps, tigermatt
