NatWest Servicecard 100

Hello all!
This is my first post so I apologise if I have posted this in the wrong place.
At present I have a CurrentPlus account with a Solo card and a £50 overdraft. (I've had this account for about 7 months now)
Could anyone who works for NatWest or knows the criteria tell me things I can do with my account for NatWest to upgrade me to a Servicecard.

Currently I use the CurrentPlus as my main account. I have my wages paid in monthly which are roughly £900 plus any earnings I have made through eBay or quidco. I also have a standing order set up to put a certain amount of money into my eSavings account each month (don't know if this helps)
I rarely go into my overdraft although to be honest once about 2 months ago I got a charge for a returned DD.
I know this will affect my chances of getting a Servicecard just now but can anyone give me any tips as to how I can improve my chances of getting one in the future. I read in the Ts & Cs that "at NatWests discresion" (sp) they would issue a Servicecard when they see fit - how could I maximise my chances of being offered one.

Obviously having regular credits and not going overdrawn would help but does anyone know a minimum balance NatWest like to see in an account or anything else I can do??

Any thoughts apreciated.

Feisty xx

Have you tried applying for one? If you go into branch and ask them for more, if they say no, ask for an application form for a servicecard and send it off. If you have an O/D then you should be okay.
  • Hi thanks for your reply, do you know if the overdraft has to be at least £100 to get a Servicecard? Also are you saying that there is a form I can ask for to get a Maestro card? Do you think they would be hard to obtain?

Sorry for all the questions lol

No, my mate who doesn't earn alot of money had his servicecard before he got his £300 overdraft. yes there is a form in branch for a maestro card, i think with any form of credit they will look at how you run your account and if you have regular money going in and don't go overdrawn then you should be OK, but i would pop in and ask, they will probably tell you there and then.
