Dla medicle assesment?

isit possible to have it at some kind of medicle center other than your home?

Some DLA medicals are held in medical centres but most are in the claimants home. If you ring up the DLA helpline I think they should be able to tell you if you have a choice.0

Remember the doctor will be coming to see YOU and not your house,it may even re-enforce the point that you have care needs0 -
I personally would try to get your assessment done at a medical centre if possible.
We had one at home for my wife who was seriously ill, the doctor asked her to get up and walk to the window in our living room, a distance of about 7ft or so, and signed her off dla.Saying she was fit for work.
This was a couple days before xmas
A few days later she was rushed into hospital and after a 10+ hr op (and contracting M.R.S.A in the process) she never walked again and we had to fight tooth and nail to get it back.
These doctors they send out are downright ignorant and didnt even want to see her medical records or surgeons notes.Wasnt interested in the slightest.
I would suggest taking someone with you to take down notes also.
