now i've progressed from listening to cd's to having just my favourite stuff on my ipod .... having now learnt how to transfer onto i-tunes then to my ipod ..
thought about the box's of "LP's" in the loft !!!....and it would be good to get my favourite stuff on my ipod .
Ages since i've had a "record player" .
Is there any piece of kit that is recommended that is Very Easy to use ... where i can record from vinyl .. i guess onto my i-tunes ? to then go on ipod ?
thanks

Was wondering though whether there's an actual machine that is a record player but has cd recording incorporated ?0 -
you can get one of those usb Turntables, but they come with audacity, and this way is cheaper

can't say I've come across a record player that records cd's but i have seen the usb turntables in both maplin and costco for £59.99
here's the maplin one:

It's just my opinion, of course, but usb turntables don't tend to be very good quality... [I'm anti-gimmick!] - you'd be better off looking for a good second hand turntable, and an amplifier / reciever unit with phono inputs (which you might have already.) Then record manually using audacity, or similar.Russia is HERE0

Do we know how this model compares with the Maplin one ??

ION were the first company to make these, so they precede the Maplins oneEx forum ambassador

I have this USB Turntable and I find it really easy to record from vinyl onto CD using it.0 -
There are turntables here that have an IPod dock built in which allows direct transfer from vinyl to the IPod as well as to PC. These will have a better quality pickup cartridge than the cheaper ones which will probably use a ceramic rather than a magnetic cartridge, which can be almost like comparing the sound from a cassette with a CD.

I use a phono lead to connect my pre amp from the turntable to the front panel of an XFi sound card and record using the excellent free audacity software.0
