What's wrong with the Dutch then ?

As someone who has lived in the Netherlands for the past 8 years (and I'm married to a Dutch person!) I can confirm that this company is a bona fide company, their clothes for babies are lovely and very bright (I bought a baby gro from them in the Dutch equivalent of Boots).

If you're worried - I would also have thought they accept a birth card* (without picture) as proof of your baby being born. My reasoning for this : this is what they ask for on their Dutch site.....

*in the Netherlands a birth card (geboortekaart) is sent round to friends/family to announce the birth of a baby - it states weight/name etc sometimes they have a photo, but very often not. I am not sure birth cards are that common in the UK which is why I guess they stated a photo!

    Worth a try ...

    PS:
Holland is a small part of the Netherlands (there are two provinces North and South Holland.
Calling The Netherlands 'Holland' is like calling England 'Great Britain';).
It's not your fault, the BBC even makes this mistake a lot of the time.

i agree, a picture of the baby is fine as this is just a picture of a baby, and how amny of these new parents will post picture of their new arrival on facebook or my space etc. i agree totally, the birth certificate is a legal document with all the detail on can you imagine what sort of trouble that could cause if it was lost or misplaced in the wrong hands, no way! you might as well photocopy your passprt or bank statements, these things are supposed to be kept private! i am glad that i entered when it still said picture, if i remember to do it after she is born in january, i think i might just have other things on my mind (what will be left of it by then!)

    Why not?!

Because it contains data of a personal and private nature. Have you not heard of identity fraud?

My God, that sounds really dodgy!!!
Nobody in their right mind is going to send a birth certificate to them. It has got to be a scam.
