Problem with SatNav

Hi all

I bought a satnav from Halfords on the 28/08/08. But now the bluetooth function wont work! You go to the menu and press the button for bluetooth connection, and nothing happens.

Its a NavMan S80d i have been on navman website for tech support but nothing on there deals with my problem.

So i rang Halfords and asked them what action can i take. i.e Replacement etc, but they told me i need to speak to navman and get a job/ref number first before they will do anything!?!?

Is this correct, as my contract is with them, not navman, halfords sold me the product.

please advise on what action i can take, as i use my satnav everyday and the bluetooth functions stops the police pulling me over and giving me 3points for talking on my fone:rotfl:

The people at Halfords are wrong. If you take it back to the shop where you bought it and show that it is not working properly then they have no choice but to honour their obligations under the SOGA.

However, have you checked the manual and gone through the process of pairing it with your phone again? Some Bluetooth devices seem to occasionally forget the devices that they have been paired with previously.

Yes i've checked how to pair it with my phone again, but its impossible as the bluetooth button, does not work on the menu screen. you press it (its touch screen) it makes the noise to open that section. yet nothing else happnes.

Just got back from halfords.

They told me coz it was older than 28days that they would have to send it off to be checked then repaired!!!

I nearly fell over when he said it.

Told the man to go speak to his manager coz what he was saying was utter rubbish and that the goods are faulty thus im entilted to an exchange.

So in the end the manager agreed to change the product.

Dont see what their problem was, i bought something from them, it dont work, so you have to change it.

But got what i wanted, so hope i have no problems with this one
