Like i said, I'm not arguing. I'm a mod at a few different sites and understand the problems faced. But i've had a few posts deleted by redfox within seconds of posting!! (hence the stalking comment hee hee)

I think you're confusing efficiency with stalking.

When I am online I read every post on Grabbit, generally within seconds of it being posted, which would explain the speed at which rule violations are sorted out :)

Redfox is as fair a host as I have seen, if she deleted your posts you must have broke the rules.

Try going over to dvdforums and look for the mod Alan b.

Anyway back to topic, anyone know the make of the drive in this unit?

Having used quite a few external drives and seen good & bad the term "fanless design" would worry me a bit. With a 7200 rpm drive and no active cooling the only thing this will be 'Optimised' for after a while is the bin!

Excellent price though even if bought just for the drive.
Light blue touchpaper and stand well back !

Might also be worth keeping an eye on Staples as last week I bought a Pikaone 300gb usb2 drive from there reduced from £150 to £99.99.
The drive inside the casing is actually a 300gb Seagate NCQ drive.I'm really impressed with mine so will be holding out to see if Staples reduce them again over the xmas period.... :)

i'm interested in these, though the 320 gig is a bit 'odd', i'd have thought they could be using 2x160 gig drives, IF thats the case, this is a fantastic purchase as you can easilly replace them for larger ones
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

Looking at the cached page when doing a google search on this drive shows that it was priced at £219.98 on 10 Dec so looks like a bargain to me:

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Toshiba+PX1223E

Does anyone know what the name of the drive is (seagate? western digital?) in these things?
  • After a quick research, it seems to be a Western Digital, casing is slightly different but same spec as http://www.misco.co.uk/productinformation/~100392~/WESTERN%20DIGITAL%20320GB%20EXTERNAL%20HARD%20DRIVE.htm

    sold at Misco for £129
