Are second cardholder purchases protected under CCA?

I am second cardholder on my Husband's credit card. We want to make a large purchase & were going to put it on the credit card so we will be protected under the Consumer Credit Act . However, my Husband is under the impression that only goods purchased by the Cardholder's card are covered under the act & not those purchased by the second cardholder:confused: . Is this true? - if it is it makes my card useless as we only use a credit card to get the protection & in this instance he can't come shopping with me to make the purchase.

Any info appreciated!
