I would like some advice please on a system that can store my CDs as MP3s and then allow me to play them on through my HiFi amplifer using phono connections. I would need to select the tracks via the storage device and wondered if there was anyone who could help me select the best one?
I have over 200 CDs.

"Best one" is probably a piece of string question.
One that works for me in various places is a simple iPod with 400+ albums on it and a SendStation PocketDocket to hook it up to both the Hifi and the car radio. Sound quality is good (well, good enough once I bumped up the bit rate for the conversion) and it Just Works, which kind of appeals as I spend too much time swearing at computers as is.0 -
Have a look at the Brennen JB7 or the Cambridge Audio Music Server. More pricey is the Naim HDX.
If you're happy to keep the music on a PC/laptop, then dedicated music streamers like the Slimdevices Squeezebox are good.0 -
I'll second the Squeezebox or Duet by Slim Devices. I've been using Squeezeboxen and realted products for years. No problems and excelllent quality plus a fantastic on line support forum community. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
