Thanks to this site I have purchased my first MP3 player from Tesco's.
I have managed to put some tracks on it from my computer ok but I have a small problem.
I have purchased and downloaded an album from the tesco website and downloaded it but does not appear to be showing on the player.
I have now re downloaded it in a zip file to my desk top, could anyone explain what I do next and where I may have gone wrong in the first place?
Thanks
Martin

Unzip these files to a directory and then copy the individual files across to the MP3 player as you have done before. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

When you copy them over make sure you copy the file and not just
point a shortcut to the file, Try this...
Plug in player
Lets say you have the files in a folder called My Music. well go to the folder called My Music and then select one or many files then choose, Edit, Copy To Folder
now choose the MP3 player and then copy.0 -
I have tried again to get the music on the player.
If I plug it in to the computer the music is shown as been on the player.
When I try and find the tracks and then play them nothing happens and it seems to skip them all and move on to another track and miss all the tracks I have downloaded.
I have also tried to put all the music on to the Media Player to save them there, and then empty the MP3 player and start again but when I try this it just comes up with an error and says it cannot copy anything.
I'm probably missing something very basic.
Thanks for the replays so far.Been there, done that, now I want to do it cheaper!!0 -
You may have created a shortcut to the music file on the PC, which won't show up when you try and find it on the MP3 Player. This is because the shortcut is referencing a location on your computer (not the MP3 players storage) and the MP3 player won't be able to access the file when unplugged from your computer. (It may not show it because it isn't a music file e.g. .mp3, .wma etc.)mealmond wrote:If I plug it in to the computer the music is shown as been on the player.
On your computer with the MP3 player plugged in, browse to the MP3 player and right-click one of the tracks you can see on the computer but not the player. Click Properties. Look at Type of File (on the General tab). If it says Shortcut, you have copied the music as a shortcut as I mentioned at the start of my post. You need to follow Intel's instructions to copy the actual music and not shortcuts.intel wrote:Try this...

hi
What size is your mp3 player? are the downloaded files mp3's, In your MP3 Player Setting, have you got it set to intro, if you have take it off. When you've plugged in your MP3 Player, you should be able just to drag and drop to it, and then they should show up on your MP3 player.
Hope this helps

Another thing is to check whether your MP3 player will play DRM files. Music files from places like TESCO are DRM encoded to stop you from copying them.
If your MP3 player does not support DRM files then the player will just skip the tracks and move on to the next track it can play.Dave. :wave:0
