The simplest way is to use an FM modulator, which broadcasts the MP3 player's music like a radio station and you simply tune the head unit to the frequency of the modulator. FM modulators dont tend to have a great sound quality, possibly on a par with FM radio if you get a decent one. There are other ways, depending on your head unit manufacturer but FM modulator is probably the easiest.
This type requires you to remove the car stereo to access the aerial lead and this type doesn't.
EDIT: Ahh, you beat me to it!

lol thanks guys. Soulistic, its a Ford radio/cassette and cd player that came with the car. Got to out in a mo so will have a look if there are any connections on the front.
Probably be cheaper to get the cd player fixed or replaced, was just looking for a short term solution. I know there used to be a thing you could get that looked like an audio tape and you could connect a portible cd player to it and play it through your car stereoErrrr...come back later

Oops, I thought you didn't have a casette player in your car because when you said CD player, I automatically assumed that you had no casette player.
But, if you want one of these, basically, they work by taking the signal from your mp3 player and sending it to casette.
These casette devices have a wire that connects one end to the casette, and the other end to the mp3 player.
I saw these in Tesco the other day for £10... might be worth while if you have a casette player.
PS: That would definetly work!0 -
Thanks for you help. Yeah its got 2 seperate units, a radio/cassette and a cd player, both Ford. The radio/cassette is fine but the cd player makes horrible clicking sounds and then refuses to give the cd back lol
£10 seems a bit steep, just seem some on ebay for a pound or 2. Will have a look in the pound shop this afternoon, thanks again for you help ;-)Errrr...come back later
