If you are worried about cutting up the cards, why not cut up all but one and put that one away in a drawer so you can get to it when you really need to but it isn't in your purse for everyday temptation
I've heard a finance person in the media (might or might not have been Martin, I can't remember) advise you to put the credit card in a small tub of water and then put it in the freezer. That way you have to thaw it out before you can use it and it will make you think even harder whether you actually need to use it or not!

Congratulations!! :j Have you thought about freezing them in a bag of water?? Sounds crazy, but if you want to use them you have to watch them defrost and have time to re-assess the purchase before you do something you might regret!
