Asian supermarkets are great for things like that. Also big bags of rice and herbs and spices. Although I don't much fancy the chicken feet that you see in there. Yeugh!0

Thanks for the URL Zed. I wasn't sure if I could name the supermarket so I left the clues.0

I don't think there are any Chinese supermarkets in my area (in fact there aren't any chinese PEOPLE in my area)! Does anybody (ivyleaf, P-P etc) who lives locally know any better? I know Central London has loads of Chinese people but I'd be on foot and I don't fancy having to get 5l of white vinegar home any great distance... I'm in Welling, Kent.

Someone on here (sorry can't remember who) suggested putting bicarb then vinegar down the sink to clear blockages and smells (I've tried it, it works!), but my friend has said this will knacker my pipes!
Is this true? I'm inclined to beleive not, but thought it's best to check just in case!

I can't really see how it would damage your pipes. S/he must be confusing bocarb and vinegar with sulphuric acid or something?!0

Thanks
Since both products are edible, the mind boggles. I tried this a week or so ago. It makes a lovely fizz but the soapy gunge was still clinging to the inside of the waste outlet. I bought some soda crystals from Tesco and used them with hot water. Did the job a treat.0 -

Thanks all, I'll just keep chucking it down my sink with wild abandon then and I'll let you know if my pipes do go south!
