Keymeter v Quaterly Bill Post Debt
Hi all,
I've just finished paying a £1800 debt to British Gas for my electricity supply after they failed to send me a bill to my new address for 4 years even though i kept asking them to do so.
Anyway, thats by-the-by, I paid the debt off at a rate of £10 per week by getting them to install a key meter into which i paid approximately £120 per month (of which approx £40 per month was taken as the debt).
I assume that if i stay on the key meter, i will now put £80 per month into it now that the debt has been paid. So really, as I have no previous quaterly bills to compare with, I am wondering if it will benefit me switching to a quaterly bill or to stay with the key meter.
I have a six room, fairly large flat with everything bar the gas fire and 4 rings on the hob as elecrically powered. (My quarterly gas bill is never more than £20 even in winter).
Also, knowing how much I am using (i.e. for budgeting reasons) is not really an issue, I just wondered if anyone had any advice or previous experience they could share.
Thanks in advance.

Electricity varies a lot regionally but I imagine you could save in the order of 25% off your bill switching to British Gas Click 6 or other direct debit credit meter tariff.0
