I purchased a laptop on 15 Dec 07 with one years warranty.
The laptop has been back twice once for a new hard drive then two weeks later for a new screen.
Its now starting turning itself off after being on a length of time. Basically I have had enough it comes out of warranty in just over a month, how long before something else goes wrong and I'm not covered? Oh the shop advises that I could always pay for extended warranty!
What are my rights? Can I ask for my money back rather than send for repair or even a replacement? This must have been built on a Friday afternoon!

Ei Systems 4213 Laptop, Currys.
Their exchange and refund policy states 28 days for money back or replacement, repair only after that period.
But it also states that your statutory rights are not affected, so does that mean its rubbish to put the customer off?0 -
Hi, you do not have the automatic right to recieve a refund after the amount of time you have had your laptop, it is down to the discretion of the retailer whether you receive a repair, replacement or indeed a partial refund. You should contact Currys and tell them it is faulty and see what solution they offer which most probably will be a repair!0

Personally, Id take whateverhappens, send it in for repairs, the techguys are so dumb they will loose your laptop or deem it unrepairable and you'd get a new oneEi Systems 4213 Laptop, Currys.

Currys are awful for fixing things, I think your only entitled to a repair,0 -
FatBoy, you should contact the Tech Guys as soon as possible so that they can investigate your laptop. I'm not sure if it costs anything as I'm not familiar with the process but they would be the first port of call for a DSGi product. You can use Google for their phone number or saynoto0870.com0
