Can I just say that my son has septo-optic dysplasia and now mild cerbral palsy and he recieves higher mobility and care, they did decline my first application when he was a year old (he is now 6) and then appealed against it and got it, then he didnt recieve the mobility compartment until he was three. this is my first time to the forum so "hello" everyone.

Hello thanks for your reply, can i ask if your son had high rate mobility before you knew about the CP? What i'm being told by the RNIB and DLA is that people and children with visual problems do not qualify for high rate mobility.
Nice to hear from you
Kind regards

dont know if this will aply to you or not but you may be entitled to claim back your travel costs... http://www.nhs.uk/Healthcosts/Pages/Travelcosts.aspxDON'T JUDGE ME, YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO. YOU DONT KNOW WHAT I'VE BEEN THROUGH, YOU DONT KNOW WHAT I'VE FELT, OR WHAT I FEEL RIGHT NOW! SO FIND SOMETHING BETTER TO DO WITH YOUR TIME, THAN JUDGE SOMEONE YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!!!0

He won't get high rate mobility. I'm registered blind and 50% deaf (both ears) and I don't qualify either.0

he got higher rate of the care componant until he was 3 then he got the high componant of mobility he was diagnosed with cp age 2 so ....... thats rubbish logic from DLA as there so called medical computers should tell them that having septo-optic dysplasia lowers your muscle tone which could cause mobility problems?0 -
my husband is registered blind plus other disabilities but only gets Low Rate,no amount of appeals will change their mind...blind= low rate according to them.0
