I'm about to ditch RIAS for INGDIRECT . Have been with RIAS for several years now and have just let the DD continue and not really looked closely at renewal.

This year have taken time to look at renewal and they seem very expensive to me - renewal is £359 which includes £24 for paying by DD which I never realised I was paying.

4 bed detached 10 yr house. Buidling cover up to £1,000,000 (not sure why it was that high), Contents 50k,. no home emergency cover, no accidental damage to buildings

    quote with ING
Your annual premium £232.34 no fee for dd
    Summary of contents cover:
Your contents are covered up to60,000
Your valuables are covered up to (single article limit is £12,000)24,000Cover for personal possessions away from the home1,000
    Excess £100 Accidental damage cover

Summary of buildings cover:Your buildings are covered up to500,000
Excess £100 (A subsidence excess of £500 applies)
    Accidental damage cover

Automatic legal cover Legal cover up to £50,000 for you and your family is included as standard. Home Assistance Home Assistance 24/7 to help in the case of emergencies is included as standard.

so seems to include as much as RIAS(ex building cover) for a lot less money

I reckon I have been paying over the odds for quite a few years. No idea how I found out about RIAS in first place as I'm not over 50 yet.

Just got some leaflets from RIAS - home and building insurance price fixed for 2 years if you take up insurance by 12/07.
I haven't made my mind up yet.
