Recycling Box Lid
Comments
-
We have two boxes, one for paper and one for glass and tins, we're supposed to leave them out stacked with the glass on top to stop papers flying off in the wind. This doesn't work terribly well and we often find bits of paper and aluminium lying around after a windy collection day
During the week both boxes live outside the back door. Husband made a nice lid from scrap wood for the paper box to keep the rain out. I discovered a plastic crate in our garage which is the right size when upended to make a lid for the tins and jars box, this stops my two dogs from licking out and food tins and keeps most of the rain out!!
I don't put the lids out on collection day, the 'bin' men have it down to a very fine art and if everyone had lids it would take them quite a lot longer to do their rounds. A few seconds at each house would soon add up.
