There's also Royal Mail surface mail small packets, but they probably have the same 2kg limit as air mail - and save surprisingly little in some cases.

Parcelforce International Standard (no economy to Europe) is £16.39 at a Post Office for either a 2.1kg or 2.2kg parcel (sorry, forget which I priced, but are probably the same). If you can split it in two, two small packets will total about £2 cheaper.0
