Travelodge - payment declined

I have been trying to book a room at Manchester Central Travelodge today.
I first tried using my Egg Money card - payment was declined - then tried a Halifax mastercard - again payment declined.
I telephoned Egg to see if there was a problem with my card and they said it had not been declined by them - anybody else having problems with their booking system?

I wouldn't mind but I was not after the £9 rooms!!

Its a common fault with travelodge.Just ask anyone booking thurs night.
If you are after normal price rooms,just keep trying,it will go through eventually.And even if it books it twice,you can cancel one with no charge.

Yes, I hade this problem Friday tried 3 times each time declined so waited till the eveening to try again just incase i hade 3 confirmations come through. By the time i tried again prices had gone up ...................

Well tried again this evening with same result.
So went on to Late Rooms and booked without fuss at another hotel for £5 less.
Travelodge needs to be careful as their pricing in some cities now means it is no longer a budget tariff.

happened wiv electron for me... but it was a site crash. i got one after allowin the site for a few hours.

plus electron is freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
