Those who saw the rate cuts coming a mile off have mostly been locking in their savings to fixed term accounts for 1 or more years, so they'll be getting rates above the base for some time to come.
Some of us certainly saw the rate cuts coming, but unfortunately our liquid assets are still trapped in Icesave accounts. By the time we get our money back there won't be any decent deals left.0 -

With respect, you can't complain (not that you were complaining as such). The UK Government is bailing Icesave savers out when there's no obligation for them to do so.
Better than a tax cut any day I'd have thought!0
