My friends tell me because I think no one fancies me I don't act available so blokes don't approach me.

One of my friends - when ever we go to the pub she always tells me off cos I look so snooty!

I don't mean too, its just how my face is!

Hey, if we knew what it was we'd do something about it wouldn't we? I sometimes think I'm not girly enough (I love football, Jack Reacher books, action films and the like) but I can't/won't change who I am for someone. I'd rather be single me than a coupled up copy of me.

Mainly, though, it's because my exes have all treated me pretty badly and my poor heart has gone on the defensive. It's like the saying that the best way to avoid a hangover is to not get drunk...

They may have a point you know (not the snooty face bit)

You have to try and look available but not desperate.........difficult to master I know.

Not at all. There are loads of men who'd like that in a girl. And the ones who don't aren't for you.

That's the problem. Sometimes it's not that we should learn a lesson from a relationship, but that we shouldn't learn a lesson - and just accept the hurt and treachery was a one-off.

    But that is so difficult...

Kids, I'm going to have to log off now. My wrist is really hurting (RSI, not anything saucy!) and I need to take more painkillers and get to my bed I think.

    See you tomorrow?

yep, I am with you on all counts. I don't really know why I want a boyfriend. they only ever cause me hassle in varying degrees of nasty.

and I have appalling taste in men.

tbh with two jobs, my Mum and sets of friends that don't mix much I wouldn't have time really. And cos i never go out anywhere new I don't meet any one outside the group? so I really don't think its a possibility.

hmmm. I need a new focus.

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

I hear that quite often. I'm surprised how common it is. Maybe common decency is like common sense, if it truly was common we wouldn't have a name for it...

One of the tests is: Has he ever said anything that didn't suit his purpose?
