Funny news story. People trying to avoid planning consent had built a house inside a barn (or built a barn outside a house). An anonymous person sent a map to the council with "house in barn" and an arrow pointing to map. Feel a bit sorry for the people as they run an animal sanctuary on the land. They were probably trying to live there 12 years unnoticed.

    There was a story a few years back about farmers building luxury barns for their cows, complete with fireplaces and cupboards.
    Been away for a while.

    Apparently it wouldn't have worked anyway as the law was changed to exclude the time that a house is shielded from view.
