Cold Calling: the practice of making unsolicited calls to customers or consumers in an attempt to sell products or services.
What is the point in ticking the little web box declining the offer of contact by phone and email about the banks fantastic offers, if they are going to ignore it.
minimike2 .Its great to see there are still people out their who still have such implicit trust in the banking system.
I consider myself chastened for my cynicism.0 -

The call was not unsolicited. You already hold the mortgage product with them. This type of call is a service call and does not come under the "tick the box" for declining info on new products. If they called you to sell you something new, that would be different, but that is not the case here. Many people they call with the same info will be happy to receive the call.
Dont get me wrong, I despise cold callers and get many myself, but this was not a cold call.0 -
We were told by Nat West when we rang them that the interest rate for their offset mortgage would be cut by 1.5% on 1 December 080

When did you speak to them ? The One account (also owned by RBS) still hasn't said anything, but if RBS really are cutting their NatWest branded offset rates then they should be cutting the rates on their other offset brands as well...0 -

I rang them this evening and was told that it was still under review. They said that the decision will be made on Monday 1st December. It doesn't look good. :mad:0 -

At last, a date! I'll give them (RBS) a ring tomorrow and see if I can get confirmation.
Carrottopsuk, it might be worth passing the date info onto the OneAccount thread, as I'm 100% certain all RBS Offset product holders will get the same deal, at the same time.0 -
The wife spoke to our Nat West Relationship Manager about a week ago. She told the wife we would be informed that our mortgage would be dropped by 1.5% on 1st December 08.0
