Fixed Term Account

I am seriously considering depositing between £50,000 and £60,000 with Close Brothers Treasury Services in their 1Year fixed term Premium Gold account. As they state on their website if they receive your application form by Mon 10th Nov, you can print one from their site, and funds (cheque or transfer) the rate will be 7% guaranteed.
I’ve never heard of them; but they do have the standard £50,000 guarantee. Has any one on here had any dealings with them or know much about them?
If I do decide to go ahead and deposit funds with Close Brothers half of the amount to be deposited will come from my K E account and the other half from my Birmingham Midshires internet account. Both amounts will be first sent to my Nationwide linked account by CHAPS to, hopefully (K E in mind), ensure that funds will be in the my linked account in time when they cash the cheque.
After reading a number of posts on here it seems to me that this is the best way to get a decent fixed interest account in time, as many other posts express concern about other fixed interest accounts dropping their rates before the accounts can be opened or having to wait for application forms.
THANKS

Also note that CHAPS from KE is still running with delays, as detailed both on the ING site and in the KE threads.0
