cant get references for student loan

Hi guys,
i am trying to apply for a maintenance grant for university, i have a tuition fee loan already but i am entitled to a maintenance grant /loan.
the problem i have is that i dont know (any person of standing in the community) (british) that have known me for three years i have been here just three years, i have never met my doctor , dont know any priests , or police, my uni lecturer has only known me a short time etc, it seems a bit silly but i cant find anyone. my doctor said originally they would charge £15.00 but then back down as they dont know me. any suggestions??, i have friends in bulgaria where i originate from who are doctors dentists police teachers etc but not here!!!!!

Did you study at school here before applying for university? If so a teacher or headmaster from the school.

  • hmm, an interesting dilemma. I don't remember the ins and outs of why you need this so did a quick internet search - are you talking about the birth/adoption certificate identification form? Because as I understand it you only need to do this if you're submitting your birth certificate as ID because you don't have a passport. If you are submitting your passport as ID I don't think you need to do this as well.

I thought that EU students weren't eligible for the maintenance loan, only the tuition loan?

Having just checked I can see that if you've done 3 years of education here you can be eligible, but if you've done this, surely you can give a tutor as a reference?
