I dont think you can
You can try goin to WINDOWS UPDATE (Via microsofts own website), and any 'needed' updates will be displayed (Though im unsure if it would work as its already downloading):idea:0 -

Microsoft updates will update everything to do with microsoft (Including office)
If you choose CUSTOM on the main screen, you can also get downloads for your hardware and some extra microsoft software:idea:0 -
Is it possible to set it to only update certain options and exclude some?0

If you want
To have complete control you could switch OFF automatic updates (Or have it tell you that new ones are available)
then goto MICROSOFT UPDATE every week or so and manually select what you want (Though I highly recommened leaving auto updates on as they DO tend to be important security updates)
As for the hardware and software updates, you can tick whichever you want anytime:idea:0 -
So under Control Panel I've gone into Automatic Updates and selected Turn off Automatic Updates. But where is the Custom option? Is that when you click Start - Windows Update and after it's gone through the Checking for the latest updates for your computer... process?0
