On Tuesday September 16 we spent a full 24 hours driving the latest-generation Renault Magnum clockwise around the ‘Road to Hell’ – and we want you to guess how many of the 117-mile laps we managed. In fact, we also want you to estimate our slowest lap time, our average speed and how long we spent in stationary traffic.
The only clues we’ll give you are that the weather was fine, the truck was laden to 44 tonnes, and the breaks taken by the drivers totalled 3 hours and 18 minutes.

Question 1. How many laps of the M25 did our four drivers manage between them in 24 hours (including breaks)?
  • A 5.5 laps
  • B 8.5 laps
  • C 11 laps
Question 2. What was our slowest lap time?
  • A 1 hour 35 minutes
  • B 2 hours 37 minutes
  • C 5 hours 5 minutes
Question 3. What was our average speed for the 24 hours (including breaks)?
  • A 16.1mph
  • B 41.2mph
  • C 52.5mph
Tie-breaker: During the course of the day, how much time did we spend in stationary traffic?
