Hi Guys
I know lots of people post their debt free diaries on here so i thought that by me doing the same i would get some usefull ideas along with giving me the push and kick up the backside i really need to clear them.
I am currently just under £9000 in debt on my credit cards, overdraft and loan to parents.
I have gone through all of my outgoings and have got them down to a bare minimum (thanks to the help of previous postings on this site) and am now looking for ways to help bring the debt down as quick as possible.
I am currently paying my HSBC C/C back at £123.00pm and the Barclaycard at £51.00 which are both of the minimum repayments. i am paying back my parents loan at £100.00 pm so that should hopefully be gone soon leaving me the spare £100.00 to throw at the others.
I am after some ideas on how other guys have got their debt down and also any potential money earning opportunities that i can try to work around my 9-5 day job.
I think that the fact that i shall be updating this diary quite often should help me as well as it will be quite a good release to talk about this and also keep a regular tracker of how i am doing.
Thats all for now but if anybody has any suggestions they will be greatly appreciated.
All the best

the obvious one if you are a 9-5'er would be an evening job maybe waiter or bar staff?
low pay but it soon adds up if you do a couple of nights a a week
post up a SOA though so people can get a better idea of where you're at currentlyThose who risk nothing, Do nothing, achieve nothing, become nothingMFW #63 £0/£5000 -

Throw it at the debt with the highest interest rate rather than the biggest debt.0 -

Hi Guys
Thanks for your comments.
In respect of getting a night job i won't be able to do that as i have a 3 month baby boy and i would like to spend the evenings at home with him and my family.
I have just signed up to a load of survey websites and will be waiting to see what i get through tomorrow.
A great idea about ebay as i could do with a massive decluter and hopefully that will free up some cash to help tackle the debt.
Thanks for the help and ideas guys i will keep you updated.

I have just counted up my change jar and have just over £30.00 in shrapnel. i will get this paid in on Monday as the overdraft is charging me the higher rate of interest at the moment as the two cards are on pretty good deals.
I have also had a good rummage around the house and have found lots of stuff to put on ebay so hopefully by the end of the listings i might be able to make a dent on the overdraft or even (fingers crossed) clear it.

Good luckiiwannabedebtfree You're doing a great job. I've just started an overdraft busting diary, I'm determined to get rid of it and not use it ever again! Congratulations on your new baby boy

Saz x:heart2: THANK YOU MARTIN!! :heart2:0 -
Cheers Saz, i hope everything goes weel with your overdraft busting task.
I have had some luck with the survey companies, receiving 5 different ones through today. I know that it takes a while for them to add up but by me doing them i am earning a small amount whilst saving money by not spending money on things i would be doing during that time.
I have also read about the quidco "free money" sign ups where you can earn money from there without actually purchasing anything by trials and what not.
Has anybody tried this and if so how did it go?
Cheers

I think a spending diary is the scariest thing to do - it's amazing what it is like to keep a record in black and white of everything you spend. Doesn't half keep you on track.

How much can I save in 2012 challenge
75/1200 :eek:0 -
I've received £53 over the last 2 months with free sign ups on quidco - plus I'm waiting for another £130+ Also joined ipoints, pigsback, cashback kings plus a few others - can't recommend it enough - however if you decide to join the latter please do it via someone on this site so they get a benefit too. You can if you choose go and join direct... You can even get paid by them to join the survey sites you are referring too...
The benefit of quidco is you get cash - the rest it tends to be vouchers or items which is less useful... Look at the £10 per day challenge on this board for more ideas on how to raise extra cash...
