well since friday i've managed to spend the bare minimum.

I sat down with the OH on saturday morning after our ride and we went though everything. Once the SOA calculator is back up i'll add her into it.

Things are not looking that bad though now but i'm not becoming complacent. We sat down and did a weeks food menu with the cuboard open and then went and spent a fraction over £50 on a weeks shopping incuding some junk food for the kids. PLus got a further £21 off with clubcard vouchers(yes i know they are worth 4 times that in other places but i dont need anythning bar food atm).

Got a 5p off voucher aswell so that will do my missus in her thirsty 4x4 and i got given one from a guy at work on friday as he doesnt use enough fuel to need it.

No NSD's for me this weekend after tesco's yesterday and today my daughter has a riding lesson(only £10 an hour though so far cheaper than it could be).

Hi Chunky - well done for doing the joint SOA and getting OH on board. The good news is that you have a decent sized surplus that you can throw at your debts. Have you used the snowball calculator at www.whatsthecost.com to get a plan of action - warning though it is addictive!

The other thing I would do is keep a spending diary and write down everything that you spend just to see how accurate your SOA is.

Hope the hairy beasts are ok! x x

yep looked at snowball calc and it says 35 months but i rekon it can be done alot quicker however i'm going to give it a month with just keeping a diary and then i will have a true idea of where the money goes.

As for the hairy beasts then yes they are fine. Had the new boy in the arean today for a quick 30 min lesson after the short white one had had a go and we are going to enter him for a walk and trot test next week to see how things go.

Well for those that are interested in all things horsy Bud the new boy turned out to be a star iun a dressage areana and pulled off a 4th place in his first ever dressage test. Got pics but I'll hold out on them for the time being.

Little White pony is still going strong and also managed a 4th but at Prelim level(will mean something to horsey types!!) and our instructor rekons we should be aiming for novice level with him which should prove interesting!!

ON the whole DFW issue then i have good news. Virgin have authorised a new CC for me giving me 0% balance transfer to march 2010 with enough room on it for me to transfer both mine and my partners CC onto it saving us best part of £170 a month in interest!!!

    Wohoo!!!

Not only that i think they must have realised i was aiming to not use it as they gave me a bright pink card!!! Not very manly atall!:D

Not paid any more off any debt since my last entry but i'm doing one big monthly payment rather than lots of little ones as this works for me i think!

Got a few extra £2 coins for my pot aswell which is all good.:T

Brilliant news with the dressage tests Chunky - extra carrots for tea for them. The best I managed was 6th in Prelim 10 - I never quite managed to convince my mare not to jump the white markers!

Excellent news on the card as well - you should really start to see the balance coming down.

Glad its going well for you Chunky x x

Oh, all this horsey chatter is making me very.....broody isn't quite the word I'm after, but it does fit the bill.
Well done to the Chunky boys on the dressage.

Fab news on the Virgin card Chunky, that should see a real reduction in your outgoings.

    I know what you mean.

I'm not especially horsey but spending time with them with my OH and daughter it makes me want one myself so i feel for your broodiness.

Not really after a reduction in outgoings as we are in a realtivly strong position for the time being it just means the money we pay off each month is making a larger dent in the debt.
