benefit/ return to work

i just want to make a post on how i might get back to work. im on long term incapacity ben and live with a partner that works full time. we have two boys at home and get WTC and CTC i want to know if i will be better off working part time self employed and maybe compare income/benefit calculations so i can plan the stages of returning to work. thanks everyone any help would be most appriciated

I'd like to think, financially, you would be better off back in work, but even if not, surely you'd feel better in yourself?

Ring your local Jobcentre where they can book you an appointment with an Incapacity Benefit personal adviser who can do you a BOC (Better Off in Work Calculation)...

You should be eligible for a £250 job grant as well as £40 per week (tax free) for 1 year, if you find a job over 16 hours that pays under £15,000 per annum........... :T

Give them a ring... you may be pleasantly suprised!!!
