To Stand Charge Or Not?
Hi, new to this site! I am trying to switch over from EON-pre-pay meter, to another company as we move in two weeks. I would like to pay by DD, duel fuel, as meter costs us a huge fortune! My question is, do i go with standing charge an lower cost or higher cost and no standing charge?
Does any one have any advice?
While im on, we found out the other day, while having an energy review on the house, that economy 7 is more often than not false economy, as if you use it only now and then, the company puts up your day rate!! New to us!!

Welcome to the forum.
Unless you are a very low user the 'No Standing charge' tariff and 'Standing Charge' tariff come to the same sum. With 'No Standing charge' you pay extra for the first units you use - called tier1 units.
Yes you are quite correct that on an Economy 7 tariff you pay quite a bit more during the other 17 hours. So it is very unlikely that E 7 will pay for anyone heating with gas - so get rid of it.0 -

That is more often than not the case ... but not always!
