cot bed sheets

hi all

does anyone have any idea where i can get cheap but nice cot bed sheets? My DD2 is getting her first 'big girls bed' next week, and what with getting that and the mattress, i am running short for the bedding!

I have posted on freecycle, but my local one isnt that good really!

Also, what is best, jersey or flannelette?

  • Why not use flat sheets for a single bed, then they will still be of use when she moves on to a proper bed. Just tuck in any excess.

Just what I was about to say, I used to halve them and just sew the edge. When DD moved into a big bed I put them lengthways up the top half over a full sized sheet in case she had an accident in the night.

Now DD is 11, and those sheets have lined the dogs basket for years :rotfl:

  • i got mine from ebay as they arent the sort of thing you often find reduced in shops. ive got jersey ones but i dont think it really matters

I only had 2 fitted sheets so if we had a run of wet beds or a vomitty episode would just use single sheets too...

And once OH made the bed up and used a table cloth!

  • I bought my daughters cot bed sheets from Wilko's. My son now uses them and they are still in great condition dispite the years of sick and leaking nappies.

I paid £6 for a pack of two, and I know they still did them at this price a few months ago. They are the jersey type but they may have the other type if you have a nose around.
  • i use my old single bed sheets from when i lived at my folks (many moons ago, but i'm a hoarder! :D)

work fine- just tuck em in!

DS complained when i used flannel that it was scratchy - he prefers cotton

PS - just ask on freecycle for single sheets
I can't think of anything interesting to write here.........
