I challenge you - valentines wkend london

Hi

I have made the most of the travelodge special offer to book 3 nights in london on 12, 13 and 14 Feb which I am going to combine with valentines weekend as a xmas present for the mrs

I am thinking, train down there (from stoke on trent) with comedy club on the thursday night followed by dirty dancing and grease on friday and saturday.

My challenge to you fellow money savers is to help me out in locating discounted offers for either 2-4-1 tickets, train fares, underground fares or meals for during the stay as the credit crunch has bitten hard and I dont really know london at all

I have found the website "days out guide" which seems to do various 2-4-1 although they look like you need to combine them with train fares

Also if anyone knows of any good value restaurants or things to do in the day then that would be great as not spent much time in london

Going to be staying in the kings cross area

For travel in London, get a Travelcard - it cover tubes, buses and DLR

See TFL website: Here - you can buy them at any Tube station e.g.Kings Cross

The Museums (South Kensington on the Tube) are all free:

    Natural History Museum
    Science Museum
    V&A

I also like the Tower Bridge Exhibition - it's not too pricy and you can go across the Walkways. If you time it right you can also get to see the bridge lift

    Tower Bridge

Do you have Tesco Clubcard Vouchers - you can use those to get Deals Tokens for certain attractions.
    Not even wrong

We have also booked £9 Travelodge rooms for London. We intend using the Megabus to get down there. If we manage to book it early enough (and we usually do!) it will be £1 each way from Preston!! Google megabus to see if it goes from anywhere near Stoke. Once down there we will use Wetherspoons for breakfast, and Tesco deal vouchers for evening meals at Bella Italia and Planet Hollywood. Tesco deals for some attractions too. www.daysoutguide.co.uk for 2 for 1 offers.Your underground ticket counts as a train ticket for this.

For food why not just take a bag of oatcakes with you!
