Hello
We have been invited to a wedding in May 09 in Spain and I am currently looking at cheap flights to thriftily save some money. Jet 2 are the best for us at the moment flying from Blackpool to Malaga. I am although slightly hesitant about booking so early especially after Ryan air's dire prediction about companies going bust and am curious to know what other people feel about this.
Jet 2 have done well recently with their profits but you just never know in today's climate and they have axed some flights from Blackpool already. I know that jet 2 package holidays may be protected under the ATOL but it dosen't sound like their flights are. I don't own a credit card and the different flights are all under £100 and I realise that I may not have much come back if I were to buy one on a credit card. However I have read on their website about the ‘Visa Debit Card Chargeback Scheme' for those who book through a debit card but don't know much about this, I am wondering if anyone knows if there is any seperate 'insurance' that can be purchased incase there are any problems to ensure that we get out there and back ok.
Look forward to any replies and thanks for your help

.... you say "we" could someone else not book them on their CC and you give them the cash? Maybe parents?
We do this for sil and family when they're travelling as they haven't got CC's.0 -

Hello thanks for your reply- it is most appreciated, I may be booking them under someone elses credit card but if the flights are under £100, which they are then there may be no comeback if they were cancelled, even with a credit card. I was just wondering what everyone else was doing regarding cheap flights.
Kind regards
