_pale_ At the size of the mortgages, but well done on the progress on the btl. I remember clearing one out a good few years ago , don't want to put you off your supper so won't repeat here . They'd left loads of 1p and 2p coins (obviously didn't need them as they were living RENT BL**DY FREE ) - I remember picking them up and going 'that's £1,730,16 you owe me, £1,730.14, £1,730.13 :o).

Hope you get it let soon.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

Hi, good luck with clearing your mortgages. Hopefully the rental income will make finding OP's easier. Congratulations on your little one aswell, I have a nearly 4 year old and nearly one year old and they're fab - although the nursery fees will not be missed!!

    Hi PW

I just wanted to say good luck and chin up, you are doing well with taking action. Each step you take does make a dent in that total figure, no matter how small it is.

We have just the one mortgage but it is £409k so I know what it's like to have a big amount to pay off.

    All the best

I love that - just the one mortgage ...£409k... like it's a snip! That's a lot to pay back so all credit to you too! Good luck with it all.

Try £20,000 of damage and unpaid rent. Sticks in my throat still. But I know this is the peril of being a landlord and happens to the best of us so nice to hear I'm not the only unlucky one.

The total debt drains the colour from my face too (love that smiley) which is why I have every intention of getting that figure much lower as quick as I can!

My little one is just progressing to kindergarten next week, amazing how much the little darlings cost eh?

I agree that once rented, and the basic mortgage is covered it will get easier as every penny I shell out will be an overpayment so should make inroads at a quicker pace.

Thanks for the "good luck" - I think I need it!

On my online banking this morning I noticed two of my mortgage accounts have updated with the repayments I have made and we are now into the £700,000's from £803,000+ last update so that's really positive. Am hoping to make some more payments today when I work out what kind of dividend I can take from my business based on revenue this month.

The smallest BTL I don't think is accurate as I can't get that figure, only my husband so will aim to get an up to date figure this weekend as it could be even better news!

It had felt like I wasn't making much progress but I really feel more positive now :)

I've been looking for money the last hour behind the back of the WWW sofa! Done a rapid return on Zopa and have £107 on it's way which will go off the highest interest mortgage when it zips back into the account. I have some rent arriving tomorrow from one of the BTLs which will also go against the highest interest rate property.

Hoping Greasypalm send me a little cheque in September as I have requested it. £38.59.

Are there any other virtual sofas I should be looking down the back of?

  • We have a family approach us about taking up the house at the end of September so it's now all systems go to get as much done as we can as quickly as we can before they view it. Would be so good to have this off my list of things to stress about! Keep your fingers crossed folks.

  • Last BTL now rented so that is a great result! Such a relief to be able to forget about it now and let it pay for itself. Lots of hard work has been going into it so wonderful to have a positive outcome. Also, called for a settlement figure on the mortgage and it's lower than we thought so another bit of good news,

Now to use the day job to get the other two which are a bit behind back up to date!

  • Feeling a bit despondent today as not had available funds to pay the two underpaid mortgages. I probably belong in the DFW forum today eh! How do you guys motivate yourselves when you feel like you're on the endless treadmill and making no progress?

Be grateful for any responses as feel like I'm talking to myself on this thread mostly, lol.
