Unit Trust Discounts

Merry Christmas All

I am looking to invest a reasonable sum of money in unit or investment trusts.
I understand this can be considerably cheaper if I go through an IFA than through he provider themself.

Does anyone know of the IFA who gives the largest discounts for Ivestec products?

Thanks

    All of them potentially. This site mentions a few of the cheap ones that do execution only, such as cavendish and hargreaves lansdown. However, all IFAs are in the position to do that. It's a case of whether they want to or not.

    Here's HL's offering on Investec funds (assume that's who you mean);

    http://www.hargreaveslansdown.co.uk/siteredesign/discounts/results.asp?strTable=vtrandisc&Company=Investec&go2.x=6&go2.y=2

    All but one can be bought at no initial charge, with varying amounts of loyalty bonus ie annual commission rebates on all but two.

    You can get a discount on the initial charge on funds like unit trusts. Martin has an artical on discount brokers on this site.

    But you will have to pay dealing commission on investment trusts.

    On investment trusts you can usually buy the shares at a discount to their net asset value (though you may have to sell at a discount too). This can be a good way to buy in income investment.
