Need 2 Savings accounts-Please help.

Hi there.I need 2 different savings accounts with good interest rates for different debts. My Virgin CC is 0% till 2/9/09. I was going to pay the minimum £25 a month and then from January ’09 onwards put £135 to a savings account to get me some profit. I know it’s not going to be a lot as it’s only 8 months of saving, but it’ll be better than nothing I think. The other one is more complicated. My student loan is from another country. To avoid paying hundreds of £££ transferring money overseas, I pay it every 4 months. So I’d like to keep the minimum of £150 a month I pay towards it, in a savings account and then every 4 months, transfer it and start again. I realise this way I won’t get much interest at all, but I get something extra and it keeps the money to pay it out of my way so I won’t be tempted to use it. Not that I will use it, I want it paid asap.I’ve been looking at opening the Barclays Monthly Savings 7.75% interest for a year for my Virgin card. Earlier on MSE website there was a good deal for Birmingham Midshires bank savings account. Does anyone know if it’s still available or not. Or any other ideas how I should go about this whole thing? Thanks a lot.

Just to add, at the moment I'm saving student loan money in HSBC Bonus online savings account, think the rate dropped to 4.25% or something in those lines.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0
