Saving & Investing in Ireland

Hi, I recently moved to Ireland (Swords, Co. Dublin) and was wondering where I can find the best possible savings account with a decent interest rate. I'm also interested in investing in funds or stocks and would like som feedback on this. I have tried different UK banks with 5% interest rate, which I think is good, however they require that I am a UK citizen. My current bank in Ireland is Permanent TSB.
thanks,
JT

Hi, JT,
You might like to have a look at Askaboutmoney.com, which is an Irish website where all things financial are discussed

You can open an account with the offshore arms of various British banks and building societies. I don't know whether any of them pay 5% but the rates should still be better than anything you can get in the Eurozone.0 -
Northern Rock operates there and offers some of the better rates, though not as good as British ones.

Thanks!
I'll have a look at that Irish forum.
