Lost Shares, change of name, nightmare

Hi All,
I'm not sure if I am in the right place for someone to help me. My Mum worked for Marks & Spencer and had some shares which she was given for working there (I think, I know she didn't buy them). My Mum died in 1991 and the shares passed to my brother and I and we used to get small dividends.
In 2001 I married, my brother and I no longer had a joint account so we didn't really do anything with the cheques ( the days when I though £2.16 wasn't worth bothering about
). In time we both moved, the share certificates have well and truly been lost and I was wondering if there was a way to get new ones and start claiming the dividends (if any) again.
Thanks

You need to call the Registrar company that manages the shares. They will check your holdings.
from this list it looks like Equiniti

Thanks Elektra,
I'll give them a call and see where I get to. I think I originally sent them my marriage certificate etc at the time. I'm sure it was something to do with Lloyds TSB then.
Thinking back, I think half the problem was not having anywhere to bank the cheques at the time as they came in joint names with my brother and we had no-where to bank them..
