The claim you have made online is invalid, you cannot actually make a claim for JSA until you are actually unemployed as the JSA goes from the day you contact them, it cannot be done in advance, you have a whole month whilst not even having ot work to find a job so I would imagine the chances of you needing to apply for JSA are slim.

The reason the contact centre could not tell you.. is that they are only there to 'gather' information for benefit claims.. they are unable to tell you how much you will receive as they are not benefit processors.
Sometimes it is difficult to be able to give someone that answer until their benefit is processed due to complex calculalations..
