Bless, try doubling the £70, that's what you'd be spending on the real ones ;)

You can get the real ones for £70, the shorties I think they are.
  • I like the idea thats been posted on here about cheap flights? Ryan air have some cheap ones i think i saw Rome £28 return...i think that was right and you could easily get a b'n'b for the night.

You also said she likes the idea of travelling, so if you do this one then u can get a travel journal from paperchase. They do a couple different designs and its a really lovely book that has different sections for pics, tickets, writing etc....so that way its something speacial to keep from your trip?

    Hope this helps

I doubt she would like the shorties, most girls like the longish ones, my DD wants the Kensington Uggs & they are £220:rolleyes:

One thing, if it were me, I would rather £150 on one wow prezzie than a few cheaper ones to that value.

    What about a nice watch?

Great prezzie, whoever wears it looks at it often throughout the day & will be reminded of the giver.

She does actually like the shorties :)

Yeah I understand what you mean about one big present but I wouldn't like to risk it on one big thing that I'm unsure of her liking that much and know how happy/excited she gets at lots of little, but good, presents also.

The person who suggested cheap flights actually got me thinking about looking up a day trip to Paris on the Eurostar as a little extra if I can wangle it..maybe as a suprise one weekend I'll tell her we need to get up early and not tell her why..get on a 7 o clock eurostar or something. I'm looking at it anyway..

Oh, I got her a watch for her Birthday this year..it was a decent one as I knew she was going through a cheap watch a year so I invested in a DKNY one for her, loved it! :)
  • How about a day trip to Dublin or Edinburgh.

You can pick up cheap(ish) flights with ryan air (especially when they have offers on)

I don't know where you live but they have a flight from east mids at 06:35 and then one back from dublin at 20:55. So you can spend the whole day sightseeing and shopping, and its only an hour flight!

Or how about giving her an Advent Box? Get 24 'small' presents (chocolate liqueurs, silly socks, whatever...) wrap indivividually and number 1-24.

Then maybe get something like 2 cheap (EasyJet type) tickets so you can take her for a day trip to Paris or similar, or a nice piece of jewellery etc. Wrap it and label it 25 to be opened on Christmas Day.

I love this - might use it, thanks!:T

This is the kind of thing I'm doing for my Mum. she knows we're going somewhere, but doesn't know where - she is loving the excitement of not knowing. Considering at what stage to tell her where - maybe wait til we board the plane..:rotfl:
It's quite fun planning it all, I recommend it!

another random unrelated idea, how about a Polaroid camera? Polaroid's are fun.

I'm actually sorted now but I've been looking into getting one for myself, they're hard to come by and the film is pretty expensive eh?

So I've spoiled my Girlfriend it seems, spent a little more than I planned, but it'll be worth it seeing her face light up as she opens each new present! So far I've gotten her some underwear, some of those fluffy bed sock things, a Wii game, a DVD/CD set of her favourite band, a book, some perfume, something for her room as it's in the process of being redecorated, and other little bits like novelty lip balms, sweets etc.

I'm 24 and been with my boyfriend for 6 years - we're also doing long distance (Germany - England; surprisingly you do get used to it but it's hard!).

Each year I tell him I don't mind what he gets me as long as it's personal and he couldn't give it to just any girl. Women attach emotional value to presents whereas men are more interested in the practical.

I would be absolutely thrilled if he made me a scrap book with pictures of us or did one of those jar ideas but he won't because that's just not him!

Last year he bought me an iPod, which I was pleased with as it's not something I'd buy for myself, but what made it really special was that he'd filled it with my favourite songs and pictures of us and our friends - I loved it!

Other pressies he's got me that I've loved are beautiful hardback editions of my favourite books (I really love books!).
