Where to save????

Apologies if this ? has been asked and answered plenty times b4, but I have £20k to save. I want to put £10k in one acct and £10k in another. I'm not going to be making regular payments and I want instant access (with no penalties) to send the money abroad when I'm ready (and the rates are better).

Who is offering the best deal? I've been looking, but am getting so confused.

Is it better to save with online banking, or to go into a branch and see what they offer?

Does it hav to be a bank/BS? Are they better?

How about £10k in a fixed term bond (eg 1Yr) for a good rate of interest if you are very quick? And the other £10k for instant access.

Thanks for that Blackswan2 :beer: , but I need instant access on the full amount.

I will look at the sites, but as there is so much info I'm confused. Just wondered if anyone knew who was giving the best deals for what I want.

Also: most of these IA accts have you linked to another acct where your money must be transferred to. Will they allow you to link to accts in banks in other countries o/side of Europe?
