Comet are doing a great deal with Ipod touch and you are getting a free docking station worth £49.99. Only lasts so long though

currys were sold out when I looked online today.

Amazon had it at £149 I think. Does it say the model number in the description? What is the difference?

I think main difference is battery life

Vers1 has an advantage if you're a bit technical minded

"Shortly after the iPod Touch was released (firmware release 1.1.1), hackers were able to "jailbreak" the device through a TIFF exploit. The resulting application, "Installer.app", enabled the user to download a selection of unofficial third-party programs. Some of these give the user more control over the iPod Touch than is officially available.... However, as of October 2008, only first generation iPods can be 'jailbroken'"

this voids your warranty of course

The other main difference is the second version has an external speaker built in...

Thats a big feature if you want to be able to play games on your ipod like advertised in the TV advert at the minute and DONT want to have to put your headphones on to do so!

I'd pay a bit more for the newer one. Much better.

The accsessories for the old ipod touch dont work with the new one so in that way the older one is better,we have got one of each and the docks, chargers etc dont work with the new one.As for battery life it is not that noticable because when you are on the internet on it ,it drains it quick anyway. This is a really good buy just a shame the voucher offer isnt on as well.

I have the v2 and thinking of buying my son one for christmas, he is rather enamoured of mine!, battery life on the v2 is poor enough though quite frankly - any worse would worry me..

also the speaker is v.important for games.
