    Exactly as he says.
She shouldn't have taken up a job when she knew she will have difficulty to get there and back. I would have to change bus 4x to get to my work, it might be still light but not by the time I get home and noone gives a damn.
It's like when you go to agency - they ask "do you have transport?" and when they send you for interview they first ask "do you know how far it is from your home? Do you have means to get there? Do you want to even try to get job at this company provided you have no transport and it is mile walk from bus stop?"

I understand your worry about her as it is getting home at night, but the night guards could say the same.. Or night shift workers...

Thanks Any but when she did the interview that actually told her that they provided transport home :)

And so they do... She only has to pay £3 for it:D
  • do any other staff go your way, to share a cab, or get a lift?

or are there other clubs that pay more, or provide transport for free..

the fare quoted, especially that late at night, seems very reasonable!

I drive a cab my fare for 4 miles after midnight £13.40 and thats if you can get it. the only way of getting it any better ie: free is if you can offer the cab firm / driver something in return, like only using them for the more mundane day time jobs or early evening when works is in short supply.

Do the Company need to pay for your travel if you are required to travel further afield for the occasiobal Traning Day?
  • Whenever I go on a training day my company pays my expenses :)

But there's a difference between travelling in addition to your normal working duties and what would be considered part of your every day job. My understanding is that if a company provided transport to and from normal place of work, this may also be taxed as a benefit in kind.

I suspect that they don't 'need' to but any company that doesn't isn't worth working for.
  • It sounds as though the company is providing subsidised travel home. If they provided it free then it would certainly be a taxable benefit in kind and therefore paying this small amount could actually be beneficial to the worker
