in Credit cards
My halifax 12 months 0% for purchases ended couple of months ago so i do not use the card anymore. However i saw on the statement it says "up to59 days interst free purchaces only"
Does that mean for example if i spend £50 on the credit card now and pay the minium payment until the 59 days and then pay the total amout i will NOT be chaged interest???
Very confusing

Not quite. To take advantage of this you either need to start with a nil balance, or have paid off the previous statement in full. Then when you make a purchase, it could be up to something like 30 days before they send the statement showing that purchase, which will then give you another 30 days or so to make payment. Assuming you pay this statement in full, they wont charge you any interest.
To get the full 59 days you need to know when your statements are produced and make the purchase the day after one is made up.0 -

Its actually very difficult to get the full 59 days grace.
For a start, as mentioned above, you need to make your purchase immediately after a statement is generated - not the date you receive it.
Then your next natural statement date needs to fall on a weekend or bank holiday - meaning it will be produced on the next working day.
Finally, you need the payment due date to fall on a weekend or bank holiday - meaning that it will automatically be advanced to the next working dayThe whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.0
