 please help, we need some advice on our electric bill. we are with n power. we live in a two bed flat. we have no children we are out of the house by 6.30am and don't return till after 5/6pm. yet our bill has just arrived saying we have to pay £170.00 pounds A MONTH. i know, we couldn't believe either. we have no heating whats so ever in the house, we are decorating at the moment so we will be having a boiler installed sometime next year, we do have a emersion heater, which we were told uses a alot of units, so we reset it to come on for one hour in the eve when we get home. but recently we have seen that the units we use are still high. so it appears the emersion runs on a loop system and comes on at two in the morning for five hours. we have since disconnected it and put a timer on it. yet we still seem to be using abount 20 units a day is this right

First of all, id go to the utility/electic/gas board, they have GREAT tips on how to reduce.
20 units is WAY WAY WAY too much. You should be looking at about 10 from the situation you stated above.
