Early Discharge

Options
Hi Everyone,
Coming up to 6mths into BR and just enquired with OR regarding ED and he implied it was us who applied for ED ourselves.I thought it was the OR who after concluding our case and with no objections from Banks etc involved would apply for ED.
Any advice?

  • To be honest,we have had a very easy time of it,long may that continue so 6 mths will not make any difference to our situation. He said originally that we would be automatically discharged a year from the date of BR.I guess I would be happier if it was an ED just for our own piece of mind.

  • i had no non-finance house/bank creditors, just banks/credit cards and what i owed wouldnt have even tickled them (thanks to HMG for subbing them) so i cant believe any have objected, so i think i deserve my ED for services on this MSE BR forum....

ED tends to be processed when the case clerks have the time, with the high number of new cases it means that ED will be at the back of the to do list.

I have 3 months, 1 week to go to AD.

Not sure why I wasn't offered ED - I am a SAHM, simple case, no income so no IPA. I thought I was relatively simple but obviously not! ED doesn't bother me at all, and I guess the reason behind it all was that I was slow in sending stuff back to them (!), but they have never sent me an IPOQ for ED (I did get one when OH and I got back together just to reflect a change in circumstances).

I guess they are too busy to be bothered with EDs perhaps?? AD comes soon enough.

And when I stated that I thought I was "relatively simple" I meant my CASE! Before anyone takes the mickey!
  • We too had a simple case, well we must have had,we had very little correspondance at all from them, not overly bothered about ED,would be great if it happened but wouldnt make a difference to our circumstances just be a relief to have it all over so to speak.
