Naked_Rowan wrote: »Hi. I have a plea for MSE users. This is not an advert, it is a genuine request.
My name is Rowan Gormley, and I set up Naked Wines.
We have convinced some of our winemakers to give us wine, for free, to attract good, loyal customers.
The whole idea is that if you buy from them directly, they don't need to waste their money selling to you, so you get cheaper wine...and they can do what they love, which is making wine.
This is the deal. You put down £5 a month towards a case of their wines, and
- you get your first 6 bottles free. All you pay is UK taxes and delivery
- you get 33% Cash back every time you order their wines through Naked Wines
This is not one of those dodgy wine "clubs" that ship you wine you did not ask for. You can cancel any time you like. And if you don't like the wine we will refund you in full.
See what I mean at https://www.nakedwines.com/winemakers
My plea is this. These winemakers are little guys who work hard to survive. We have convinced them to give us the wine for free, because it is much better for you and for them if they don't have to waste your money marketing to you.
If you want to support a winemaker please pile in and tell your friends. If you just want some cheap wine, we have set up a half price case for MSE users, at https://www.nakedwines.com/mse
Regards and thank you for reading this far
Rowan
This seems a genuine plea.
From reading in the Press, Naked Wine is a new venture. It would be a pity if people took advantage, to get some cheap wine at the expense of the wine growers. (Especially when you can find a supermarket deal that will give you wine at the same price).I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Hi Fletty
I agree, it really is nice. I must admit, there isn't one bottle I have not liked.0 -

We will be doing Italian wines, early next year. If you have some recommendations please tell me. We will get them in and try them. Rowan
Hi Rowan,
I am a member of a group of 10 that have been skiing in Italy, Cervinia, for the last 4 years and we all love the local Cave des Onze Communes, Valle d'Aosta ,Torrette red wine.
There is a normal and a superior Torrette and both are really tasty, easy drinking, but satisfying wines and are a little bit different and off the beaten track. We have tried all the other local wines, some substanially more expensive, but these are the ones that we keep going back to and if we are feeling particularly flush, we buy the superior one. The cherry on the cake is that they are organically produced, unless my very patchy Italian has failed me completely.
I have been unable to source a UK supplier at a realistic price, unfortunately over £12 a bottle is way too expensive for us. If you can nail down some of this Torrette for Naked Wines, I would happily give you some repeat business and I know some of my friends and family would as well. Even better, if you can find a needy small Torrette producer in need of my £5 per month, that would be FAB.
Here is the Italian website of our favourite (hope your Italian is better than mine):
