I normally use firefox and was trying a program to update the drivers on my laptop when I came across this. I tried explorer on it's own and it still does not work. Does anyone know what could be causing this, as firefox is working fine

When I open internet explorer it is blank. When I type in a web address (google) a pop up with a red cross states that it is unavailable.0

Don't think I am using another firewall. I have PC tools internet security and Tune up utilities 2008. The program I used to update the drivers was Driverscan. IE will not let me check the settings either. When I go to tools, internet options, nothing happens. Also I have to go to windows task manager to close it down. I really do not want to do a system restore if I can help it as I do not know how long it has been like this0

Have you done a 'registry clean' with tuneup utilities?
If so can you restore the backups?:idea:0
